Richard and Jean Harmon founded Harmon Electric in Phoenix in 1975 and built it the slow way — one job, one customer, one referral at a time.
Their daughter Julie King runs it now as CEO, alongside her husband Dan as COO. Julie took the company through certification as a Certified Woman-Owned Business, and the family added solar in 2005 — including a standing partnership with Habitat for Humanity, putting solar on homes across Central Arizona.
Fifty years on, Harmon is still not just a family-run company: it treats its employees as family too.

The process runs sitewalk → permit and design → materials → installation → inspection → commissioning → ongoing service. Because we also hold a general contractor's licence, the civil scope doesn't need a second contractor.
We do — Harmon Solar has been our solar arm since 2005, designing, installing and maintaining systems for homes and businesses, and working with the utilities on rebates. We also partner with Habitat for Humanity to install solar on homes throughout Central Arizona. Consultations with an electrical expert are free and one-on-one.
