Two chairs in the back of a tailor’s shop. Then four.

Hale & Crown started in 1987 as two chairs behind Crown Tailoring on San Marcos Place — cuts while your suit was pressed. The tailor retired; the chairs didn’t. Marcus’s father bought the room, kept the name over the door, and kept the rule that still runs the place: the chair is yours for the whole appointment, not a minute less.

Same room, same pole, same bench by the door. The cat came with the building — nobody remembers hiring him.
