A building is a sequence of decisions. These are the nine phases we run them through — in this order, with room for the detours every real site insists on.
The mix flexes to the job. A ground-up residence uses all nine; a tenant build-out might draw on five. Either way, the architect who signs the set is the one standing on your slab at the pre-pour walk.

Marcos Reyes, AIA, NCARB founded Datum in 2011 after a decade split between a large firm's studio floor and a design-build contractor's site trailer — and decided the drawings and the building shouldn't be separate careers. Licensed in Arizona, New Mexico, and Colorado, he still red-lines every set that leaves the office.
Datum runs deliberately small: nine architects and staff, one studio, no satellite offices. The architect who draws your set walks your pours, answers the RFIs, and signs the closeout.
